The ERS research network SARCOIDOMICS brings together European centers to improve understanding of sarcoidosis and the risk factors for a more severe disease course. The project promotes coordinated collection of clinical data, imaging findings, and biological samples, as well as connections between researchers from different countries.
The goal is to enable more comparable research and to better identify biological differences among patients. This is a research collaboration, not a clinical trial of a new medicine; the launch of the network does not change current treatment.
