Namilumab for pulmonary sarcoidosis: the trial showed no clinical benefit

Published on 5 October 2026 at 20:34

The phase II RESOLVE-Lung trial evaluated namilumab in people with active pulmonary sarcoidosis. The trial included 107 participants. Namilumab did not provide a clinical benefit compared with placebo; a key outcome related to the need for additional treatment occurred in 37.5% of participants in the namilumab group and 23.5% in the placebo group.

The result does not support the use of namilumab as a treatment for sarcoidosis. This is an investigational drug, not an approved treatment recommendation. The trial was of moderate size, so further research is needed to understand outcomes in specific subgroups.
