Lung Transplantation in Sarcoidosis
Lung transplantation may be considered for a small number of people with advanced, irreversible lung disease and severe respiratory impairment despite optimal treatment.
Assessment includes lung function, heart function, other organs, nutrition, infection risk and ability to follow long-term treatment. Transplantation requires lifelong immunosuppression and specialist follow-up.
